Eid & Newruz Celebration Summary
On 03/22, the Spring Celebrations brought together a vibrant and diverse community for a day that felt truly like home and exceeded all expectations. With more than 95 attendees, the event welcomed Iraqi, Arab, and guests from many other backgrounds, reflecting the beauty of cultural exchange and unity.
Held at Pease Park in downtown Austin, the gathering was filled with energy, laughter, and meaningful connection. Families participated in bingo, kids’ raffles, and entertainment, while children played freely and created joyful memories together in a safe and welcoming environment.
A highlight of the day was the generous spread of Iraqi and Middle Eastern food, where sharing meals became a reflection of hospitality, generosity, and cultural pride. The celebration of both Eid and Nowruz added a unique and meaningful layer to the event, honoring the diversity within Iraqi identity and bringing traditions together in one shared space.
